MaxxECU Terminated Engine Harness for Toyota 2JZ — VVT-i and Non-VVT-i

Part Number: 1775

The MaxxECU terminated engine harness provides a prewired engine-management solution for Toyota 2JZ applications using a compatible MaxxECU STREET, V1, RACE, or PRO ECU.

Designed primarily for engine swaps and custom vehicle installations, the harness eliminates most of the connector sourcing, circuit identification, and point-to-point engine wiring associated with a universal flying-lead harness. Engine-side connections are terminated for the supported Toyota sensors and actuators, Bosch JPT injector connectors, and short-body VAG 1.8T ignition coils.

The harness supports both VVT-i and non-VVT-i 2JZ engines. ECU capability still determines which functions are available; the STREET ECU does not support the original idle-stepper motor or VVT-i control through this harness.

Key Features

• Designed for Toyota 2JZ engine installations
• Compatible with VVT-i and non-VVT-i engines
• Compatible with MaxxECU STREET, V1, RACE, and PRO ECUs
• Pre-terminated engine-side wiring for supported sensors and actuators
• Wired for short-body VAG 1.8T coil-on-plug ignition coils
• Bosch JPT injector connectors
• Supports the original crankshaft and camshaft position sensors
• Supports the original intake-air-temperature sensor
• Supports the original coolant-temperature sensor
• Supports the original throttle-position sensor
• Supports the original idle-stepper motor when used with a compatible ECU
• Supports the original VVT-i control solenoid when used with a compatible ECU
• Dedicated boost-control-solenoid connection
• Fuel-pump and cooling-fan control available through the auxiliary connector
• Integrated MAP-sensor hose routed through the harness
• Prewired Bosch LSU 4.2 wideband-lambda connector
• Separate 12-pin power and engine-interface connector
• Separate 16-pin auxiliary I/O and CAN connector

Supported Harness Functions

• Injector wiring through Bosch JPT connectors
• Ignition wiring for short VAG 1.8T smart coils
• Crankshaft trigger input
• Camshaft synchronization input
• Intake-air-temperature input
• Coolant-temperature input
• Throttle-position input
• Original idle-stepper control
• VVT-i solenoid control
• Boost-control-solenoid output
• Fuel-pump control through an available auxiliary output
• Cooling-fan control through an available auxiliary output
• CAN communication through the auxiliary connector
• Additional analog and digital inputs through the auxiliary connector
• ECU power, ignition-coil power, engine ground, starter, and alternator connections through the 12-pin interface

Application Notes

• This listing is for the terminated 2JZ engine harness only; the MaxxECU, ignition coils, wideband sensor, and other supporting components are not included.
• The harness is suitable for both VVT-i and non-VVT-i Toyota 2JZ engines.
• Short-body VAG 1.8T ignition coils are required and sold separately.
• The harness is wired for Bosch JPT injector connectors; confirm that the selected injectors use the correct connector and physical configuration.
• The MaxxECU STREET does not provide the outputs required to operate the original 2JZ idle-stepper motor through this harness.
• VVT-i control is assigned to Injector Output 8 and is therefore not available when the harness is connected to a MaxxECU STREET.
• MaxxECU V1, RACE, and PRO provide the full harness functionality when configured correctly.
• The harness is prewired for a Bosch LSU 4.2 wideband oxygen sensor. A compatible sensor is sold separately.
• Compatible 12-pin and 16-pin mating connectors are required to complete the vehicle-side power, starter, alternator, CAN, fuel-pump, fan, and auxiliary-I/O wiring.
• An application-appropriate alternator adapter cable is required and sold separately.
• Confirm the alternator type before selecting an adapter.
• Harness revisions use different 12-pin and 16-pin connector assignments. Always follow the printed wire labels and the wiring diagram corresponding to the supplied harness revision.
• Early unmarked REV1 harnesses use mirrored connector pinouts compared with later revisions.
• Fuel-pump, cooling-fan, wheel-speed, flex-fuel, and other vehicle-side functions require final wiring through the auxiliary connector.
• This harness is intended for custom installations and does not constitute a complete plug-in replacement for the original Toyota vehicle wiring harness.
• Final ECU configuration, trigger setup, injector data, ignition settings, sensor calibration, VVT-i control, idle control, and output assignment must be completed in MTune for the specific engine and vehicle.
