About RAD
Ramson Automotive Development (RAD) builds complete, fully tuned powertrain packages for serious street cars. From high-revving naturally aspirated and turbo or supercharged V8 engines to turbocharged inline 5 and 6 cylinder combinations, each package is developed to deliver its own sound and character, a broad usable powerband, modern drivability, and the performance to make your classic vehicle genuinely fast.
Buying a crate engine is easy. Getting the engine, power adder, transmission, fuel system, wiring, and controls to behave like one finished package is where the real work begins. RAD perfects that development before the powertrain ever reaches the customer.
Each powertrain solution is built around a defined, carefully matched combination: carefully blueprinted engine, cylinder head prep, camshaft and valvetrain, induction and boost system, injectors and fuel delivery, oiling, transmission, ECU and TCU, sensors, wiring, and calibration. The entire package is assembled, dyno-tested, and fully tuned in-house. Because the hard parts and electronics are developed together, the tune is finished on RAD’s dyno—not started in the customer’s car.
That attention shows up everywhere the dyno sheet cannot: clean starts, stable idle, sharp throttle response, predictable boost, a powerband matched to the gearing, and shift behavior that suits the engine. The package arrives with its controls, wiring, calibration, already sorted and fully documented.
For the enthusiast, that creates the confidence to choose a unique engine combination instead of defaulting to the same familiar combination simply because it is easier. For the shop, it makes more unusual builds commercially realistic—less time chasing electrical and calibration problems, less dependence on an overbooked tuner, and a much shorter path from completed installation to first drive.
RAD’s approach is grounded in more than three decades of hands-on engine building, machining, forced-induction development, EFI tuning, and engineering. That experience is focused on the details that separate a powerful engine from a complete powertrain solution someone will genuinely enjoy driving.
