IN DEVELOPMENT - The Legend of JZ - 2JZ Turbo Swap Powertrain Solution

Starting around $18,499

It’s dangerous to go alone. Take boost. Introducing RAD's, The Legend of JZ

PSI Hard Series | Turbocharged 2JZ | Targeting 800+ HP | Includes Engine, ECU, Wiring & Final Tune

In development · Expected Q1 2027 · Estimated starting price: $18,499

The Legend of JZ starts with a 2JZ-GE VVT-i and turns it into the turbo straight-six you built the car to have. Forged internals and a single turbo are paired for a hard pull through the midrange and the kind of top-end charge that made the 2JZ famous. It’s serious power with a clear goal: a car you’ll want to drive, not just put on a dyno.

RAD develops the engine and its controls as one combination. The package brings together the built 2JZ, turbo hardware, fueling, standalone ECU, engine wiring, flex-fuel capability, closed-loop boost control, protection strategies, and a completed RAD tune. Your installer can focus on fitting the engine to the car instead of developing its fuel and boost control from scratch.

  • Targeting 800+ advertised engine horsepower
  • Targeting mid-600s+ rear-wheel horsepower in street trim, with an air filter, catalytic converters, and mufflers
  • Turbocharged 2JZ-GE VVT-i with forged pistons and rods
  • Flex-fuel capable
  • Closed-loop boost control and engine-protection strategies included
  • Includes ECU, engine wiring, monitoring sensors, and completed RAD tune
  • Broken in and dyno tested before delivery

Built for the Way Boost Feels on the Street

The aim is a broad, responsive engine that builds from everyday driving into a forceful midrange and keeps pulling up top. The turbo, camshafts, fueling, and calibration are specified together so the power feels deliberate and controllable.

Startup, warm-up, idle, part-throttle response, boost transitions, and full-power operation are all part of the development program. The goal is a finished street engine with the headroom to make big power when you ask for it.

Built 2JZ-GE VVT-i Engine

Each engine is disassembled, inspected, measured, machined, and assembled for its intended turbo combination.

Engine Assembly

  • 3.0L 2JZ-GE VVT-i inline-six
  • Block machining and cylinder finishing as required
  • Forged pistons and connecting rods
  • New main and rod bearings
  • New oil pump and timing components
  • Upgraded main and cylinder-head studs
  • Performance head gaskets, new seals, and assembly hardware
  • Measured and set critical assembly clearances

Cylinder Head and Valvetrain

  • Inspected and machined cylinder head
  • Performance camshafts and matched valve springs
  • Verified spring installation and valvetrain clearances
  • Performance harmonic damper

Induction, Fuel, and Turbo Hardware

  • Forward-facing intake manifold and drive-by-wire throttle body
  • Fuel injectors selected for the turbo and flex-fuel combination
  • Single turbocharger, wastegate, and engine-side turbo hardware
  • Spark plugs and ignition components matched to the engine

ECU, Boost Control & Final RAD Tune

The included standalone ECU and engine wiring bring the fuel, ignition, VVT-i, flex-fuel, and boost systems under one control strategy. Fuel-pressure, oil-pressure, and oil-temperature monitoring support the engine-protection strategies; closed-loop boost control is included as standard.

RAD develops the tune across startup, normal driving, fuel blends, boost, and full-power operation. Each engine is broken in and dyno tested before delivery.

Oil pan and pickup configuration, accessory drive, charge plumbing, and vehicle-specific installation parts are selected separately to fit the car. The starting package includes startup oil and a filter.
