Luke Skyrevver - RAD Porsche 996/997 6.2L LS Swap Powertrain Solution

Luke Skyrevver - RAD Porsche 996/997 6.2L LS Swap Powertrain Solution

Starting at $19,999

These are the revs you’re looking for.

Meet Luke Skyrevver: 625+ HP | 7,500+ RPM | Including Engine, ECU, Wiring, Porsche Integration & Final Tune.

The price of a crate engine is typically only the beginning of an LS Porsche build. The ECU, wiring, sensors, Porsche communication, and finished tune still have to come from somewhere—and someone has to make them all work together.

RAD’s Luke Skyrevver Porsche Powertrain Solution brings those pieces into one defined package. At its center is a fully blueprinted 6.2L LS with well over 600 HP, broad street torque and a fierce pull to 7,500 RPM and beyond, developed specifically for the Porsche 996/997 chassis and gearing. The engine arrives with its induction, fueling, Porsche-specific oiling, engine management, wiring, and completed tune already specified as one combination. You or your installer can concentrate on building the car, rather than completing the engine.

  • 625+ advertised engine horsepower
  • 545+ rear-wheel horsepower measured in a 911
  • 7,500+ RPM operating range
  • Naturally aspirated
  • Flex-fuel ready
  • Porsche-specific oiling
  • Includes fully integrated ECU, wiring, Porsche CAN communication, and completed RAD tune
  • Broken in and dyno tested before delivery

Engineered to Run Through Your Porsche's Gears

This engine does not trade away the effortless torque that makes a 6.2L LS so effective. It delivers immediate acceleration from low in the rev range, pulls hard through the midrange, and then keeps charging through 7,500 RPM.

That extended operating range transforms the way the engine works with the Porsche transaxle. Each gear carries the car farther, each shift lands back in the strongest part of the curve, and the engine never feels finished before the chassis is.

There is no waiting for boost and no early top-end fade—just immediate throttle response and a broad, naturally aspirated charge that gets more serious as the revs climb.

A 7,500 RPM 6.2L LS is not ordinary crate-engine territory. It sounds, responds, and pulls like something far more exotic.

Fully Blueprinted 6.2L Engine

Every Signature Series engine is completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, measured, machined, and blueprinted for its intended power and RPM range.

Engine Assembly

  • 6.2L aluminum LS engine
  • Block machining and cylinder finishing as required
  • Forged 4032 aluminum pistons
  • Performance piston rings
  • Upgraded main, rod, and cam bearings
  • High-pressure oil pump
  • Upgraded timing set and chain control
  • Performance harmonic damper
  • Upgraded cylinder-head fasteners
  • Multi-layer steel head gaskets
  • New gaskets, seals, and critical assembly hardware
  • Precision-set bearing, ring, and piston clearances

Cylinder Heads and Valvetrain

  • CNC-ported aluminum cylinder heads
  • Performance valve job
  • Proprietary RAD camshaft
  • Link-bar roller lifters
  • Custom-length heavy-wall pushrods
  • Matched dual valve springs
  • Titanium retainers
  • Upgraded rocker-arm trunnions
  • Verified spring pressures and installed heights
  • Blueprinted piston-to-valve, coil-bind, retainer, and valvetrain clearances
  • RAD logo baffled valve covers w/AN fittings

Induction and Fuel

  • High-RPM short-runner intake manifold
  • Large-bore drive-by-wire throttle body
  • High-flow fuel rails
  • Ethanol-compatible fuel injectors
  • Flex-fuel sensor
  • Fuel-pressure monitoring
  • Intake and fueling selected around the complete engine combination

Porsche-Specific Oiling

The rear-engine 996/997 installation requires an oiling system designed around the chassis—not just a generic swap pan.

The Signature Series includes:

  • Porsche-specific front-sump oil pan
  • Matched oil pickup
  • Windage tray
  • Crank scraper
  • Dipstick and service provisions
  • RAD proprietary oil clearances and oiling system modifications
  • Oil-pressure monitoring
  • Oil-temperature monitoring
  • Engine-side oil filtration provisions
  • 100% Synthetic Start Up Oil & Filter included

These measures improve oil control and add durability margin during sustained high-RPM street and track use.

Engine Management and Porsche Integration

More than just a crate engine, the engine, electronics, and tune are delivered as one defined package.

  • Included standalone engine-management system
  • Complete engine wiring harness & sensors
  • Porsche CAN integration
  • Drive-by-wire throttle control
  • Wideband oxygen sensing - w/closed loop AFR correction
  • Flex-fuel control
  • Fuel-pressure monitoring
  • Oil-pressure and oil-temperature monitoring
  • Configured rev limits and engine-protection strategies
  • Data logging
  • Completed startup, idle, part-throttle, flex-fuel, and wide-open-throttle tune

This is not a generic base map that leaves the customer or installing shop to finish the development. The engine arrives with its hardware and tune already matched.

Proven in the Car

Development and dyno testing were completed in a fully operational Porsche 911 at normal operating temperature, using the finished street tune and ordinary pump E85 (~E70).

The car retained its air filter, complete street exhaust, including two catalytic converters, four mufflers, and two resonators. The published output was not produced with an open exhaust, special dyno fuel, lightweight test fluids, or a one-pull timing map.

The 625+ HP rating is deliberately conservative and reflects the performance RAD is prepared to advertise—not the highest number the combination might produce under ideal conditions.

Aggressive Performance. Finished-Car Manners.

The Signature Series has the sound, response, and presence expected from a serious naturally aspirated engine, but it does not use poor drivability as a substitute for character.

It starts cleanly, maintains a controlled idle, responds crisply to the throttle, and drives smoothly at low speed. Cold start, warm-up, idle control, part-throttle behavior, and transient response are developed with the same attention as peak power.

Drive it normally and it behaves like a finished street car.

Run it to 7,500 RPM+ and it becomes the reason you built an LS Porsche.

The Parts Behind the RAD Badge

Typical component brands across RAD packages include BTR, Texas Speed, Cam Motion, AFR, PRC, Mahle, ARP, GM Performance, Engine Pro, Fuel Injector Clinic, Bosch, Haltech, and MaxxECU. For turbo systems, that roster also includes Garrett, BorgWarner, and Turbosmart. RAD favors American-made performance hardware and proven specialists throughout each combination. Every part is selected for quality, durability, and fit, so you can have confidence in both the components and the RAD engineering behind them.
