RAD 500+ RWHP Porsche 996/997 LS Swap Powertrain Solutions
RAD 500+ RWHP Porsche 996/997 LS Swap Powertrain Solutions
Starting at $24,999
6.2L High-RPM N/A LS daily-driver engine packages built specifically for the 996 and 997 chassis
An LS swap can make a 996 or 997 dramatically faster. It can also make the car feel like someone dropped a truck engine behind the seats.
RAD Porsche Powertrain Solutions are built to avoid that.
Each package starts with a 6.2L aluminum LS and is developed around the way a Porsche should make power: fast throttle response, a broad pull through the middle of the tach, and real power on the top end. The engine should keep charging where a conventional crate motor is already running out of breath.
The powerband is matched to Porsche gearing rather than built around a huge low-RPM torque hit. That makes this engine easier on the transaxle, more predictable at the limit, and much more rewarding to run through the gears.
Beyond performance, it still has to work as a street car.
Clean startup. Stable idle. Crisp throttle response. No bucking through town, no stalling every time the clutch goes in, and no raw-fuel stink. These are aggressive naturally aspirated combinations, but they are tuned to work in traffic, on a road trip, and at the track.
This is also much more than a crate engine or long block. The induction system, fuel rails, injectors, ignition, Porsche-specific oiling, plug-and-play standalone ECU, Porsche CAN integration, wiring, flex-fuel system, dyno tune, and supporting engine-side hardware are developed as part of the package.
Choose Your Package
RAD Porsche Strada
The refined street package.
Strada is built for the owner who wants a major step up from the original flat-six or a mild crate-engine swap without giving up clean street manners. It delivers quick response, a broad naturally aspirated powerband, and strong high-RPM pull while remaining the most civilized package in the lineup.
- 450+ RWHP potential
- 7,500+ RPM stability
- Refined idle and exhaust note
- Strong, linear power delivery
- Crisp throttle response
- Prepped cylinder heads
- Excellent street manners
- Well suited to regular driving, road trips, and track days
RAD Porsche Feroce
The aggressive street package.
Feroce adds more camshaft, more sound, and a harder charge through the upper half of the tach. It has a sharper idle and a more serious personality than Strada, but it is still built to start, idle, and drive like a properly sorted street car.
- 500+ RWHP potential
- 7,700+ RPM stability
- More aggressive idle and exhaust note
- Stronger midrange and top-end pull
- Prepped cylinder heads
- More noticeable performance character
- Street-friendly drivability
- Built for the customer who wants the car to feel substantially quicker and more aggressive
RAD Porsche Competizione
The top-spec naturally aspirated package.
Competizione is the rowdiest combination in the lineup. It adds CNC-ported cylinder heads and the airflow, camshaft, and valvetrain needed to keep pulling to 8,000 RPM. This is the package for the customer who wants maximum naturally aspirated power, sound, and presence.
- 550+ RWHP potential
- 8,000+ RPM stability
- CNC-ported cylinder heads
- Most aggressive camshaft and exhaust character
- Strongest midrange and top-end performance
- Maximum naturally aspirated RPM capability
- The hardest-edged package in the lineup
- Still tuned as a usable street-driven powertrain
