The MaxxECU SPORT Premium package is a universal standalone engine-management system for custom installations requiring up to six sequential fuel and ignition channels, electronic-throttle control, integrated wideband lambda, flex-fuel capability, variable-cam control, CAN communications, and sufficient supporting I/O for a well-equipped street or performance application.
SPORT occupies the practical middle of the MaxxECU range. It provides substantially more control capability than a basic cable-throttle ECU without requiring the additional channels and specialized inputs of the larger RACE and PRO systems. It is particularly well suited to four-, five-, and six-cylinder engines using sequential injection, individual ignition coils, drive-by-wire throttle, variable valve timing, boost control, and CAN-controlled transmission hardware.
This Premium package includes the MaxxECU SPORT ECU, its 3-meter flying-lead wiring harness, installation accessories, and a genuine Bosch LSU 4.2 wideband oxygen sensor. It is intended for custom wiring and universal engine-management installations rather than direct replacement of an original vehicle ECU.

Application Notes
- This is a universal flying-lead ECU package. It is not supplied as an application-specific, terminated engine harness.
- The included SPORT harness uses approximately 3-meter conductors for custom routing and termination.
- Full sequential operation is limited to engines with six cylinders or fewer. Engines with more than six cylinders require a different fuel and ignition channel strategy or a higher-channel MaxxECU model.
- The ignition outputs do not directly drive conventional high-current ignition coils. Use coils with built-in igniters, a compatible external ignition module, or a CDI system.
- This package includes a Bosch LSU 4.2 sensor. Although the ECU also supports LSU 4.9 sensors, the sensor type, connector, wiring, and MTune configuration must match.
- Electronic-throttle operation requires a compatible throttle body, accelerator-pedal assembly, correct wiring, proper channel allocation, and application-specific setup in MTune.
- Variable-cam control, transmission control, traction control, and other advanced functions depend on the application’s available inputs, outputs, wiring, sensors, and configuration.
- Supported direct-control automatic transmissions include selected GM 4L60E/4L65E, 4L80E/4L85E, and Toyota A340E/A341E/A650E applications.
- Supported CAN-controlled transmission applications include selected BMW DCT, VAG DSG, and Gen 1 ZF 8HP systems.
- Gen 1 ZF 8HP control requires the appropriate MaxxECU transmission harness, compatible shifter hardware, transmission configuration, and CAN setup. These components are sold separately.
- MaxxECU SPORT does not include onboard knock-sensor inputs or direct Type-K EGT inputs. External modules or signal conditioners are required where those inputs are needed.
