The MaxxECU GEN2 RACE is a next-generation standalone engine-management system for demanding applications requiring up to 12 fully sequential fuel and ignition channels, staged injection, electronic-throttle control, extensive configurable I/O, dual wideband-lambda capability, direct EGT monitoring, dual knock inputs, high-speed logging, dual CAN communication, and environmental sealing.

GEN2 RACE expands substantially beyond the original RACE ECU and GEN2 TRACK. Its 16 injector outputs and 12 ignition outputs support fully sequential control of engines with up to 12 cylinders while retaining additional injector channels for staged-injection configurations. Eight direct Type-K EGT inputs, 24 analog inputs, eight pulse inputs, dual wideband controllers, and extensive auxiliary outputs provide the channel capacity required for complex engine, transmission, and vehicle-control systems.

This package includes the GEN2 RACE ECU, all four 3-meter flying-lead harness sections, two genuine Bosch LSU 5.2 wideband oxygen sensors, two matching sensor connectors, communication cables, wireless antenna, MAP-sensor fittings, and installation documentation. The two included wideband sensors allow both onboard lambda channels to be used without purchasing a second sensor and connector separately.

Application Notes

• This is a universal flying-lead ECU package, not an application-specific terminated engine harness.
• The complete installation harness is divided among the GEN2 RACE ECU’s four Superseal connectors.
• All four 3-meter flying-lead harness sections are included.
• GEN2 RACE harnesses and connectors are not interchangeable with original RACE, SPORT, STREET, PRO, or GEN2 TRACK-specific Connector 3 harnesses.
• This package includes two Bosch LSU 5.2 wideband oxygen sensors and two matching connectors.
• Both onboard wideband-lambda channels can therefore be connected without purchasing an additional sensor kit.
• Product ID 2451 is the corresponding GEN2 RACE package supplied with one Bosch LSU 5.2 sensor.
• The included LSU 5.2 sensors are Bosch 0 258 037 010.
• MaxxECU does not currently identify Bosch LSU 5.2 sensor 0 258 037 022 as supported.
• LSU 5.2, LSU 4.9, and LSU 4.2 sensors require the correct connector, wiring, and MTune configuration.
• Type-K EGT probes are not included.
• Knock sensors are not included.
• Electronic-throttle operation requires a compatible throttle body, accelerator-pedal assembly, correct wiring, suitable channel allocation, and application-specific MTune setup.
• Direct transmission control is available for selected GM 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L80E, 4L85E and Toyota A340E, A341E, and A650E applications.
• CAN-controlled transmission support includes selected BMW DCT, VAG DSG, and Gen 1 ZF 8HP applications.
• Gen 1 ZF 8HP control requires the appropriate MaxxECU transmission harness, compatible shifter hardware, transmission configuration, and CAN setup.
• Maintaining the ECU’s environmental sealing requires correctly assembled Superseal connectors, seals, unused-cavity plugs, USB covers, and MAP fittings.
• Available inputs and outputs must be allocated around the requirements of the engine, transmission, electronic throttle, variable-cam system, boost control, vehicle integration, and auxiliary equipment.
