The MaxxECU Gen 1 ZF 8HP wiring harness provides the transmission and shifter connections required to integrate a supported first-generation ZF 8HP automatic transmission with MaxxECU’s Gen 1 8HP CAN-control system.

This version is terminated for a supported BMW F-series 8HP electronic shifter with a 10-pin connector. It provides a substantially cleaner starting point than sourcing the transmission, shifter, diagnostic, CAN, power, and ground connections individually for a custom installation.

The harness connects the transmission and BMW shifter through a central GT150 interface and includes an OBD connector for future TCU flashing and tuning access.

Application Notes

• This harness is intended for supported Gen 1 ZF 8HP transmissions only.
• MaxxECU currently lists support for selected Gen 1 8HP45, 8HP70, and 8HP90 transmissions.
• The transmission’s original TCU must be reflashed with MaxxECU-compatible custom firmware using an external programming tool.
• TCU programming hardware, rental, flashing service, and firmware preparation are not included with this harness.
• This version is terminated for a compatible BMW F-series 8HP shifter using a 10-pin connector.
• Product ID 2283 is the corresponding harness terminated for a compatible Dodge 8HP shifter.
• Another supported CAN shifter may be used, but the supplied BMW connector must be removed and replaced with the appropriate connector and wiring.
• MaxxECU also supports shifter emulation and selected sequential-shifter configurations when properly configured.
• The MaxxECU ECU, transmission, shifter, engine harness, programming tool, and transmission cooling system are not included.
• This transmission harness does not replace the engine-management wiring harness.
• Confirm the transmission generation, TCU hardware identifier, shifter part number, MaxxECU compatibility, and current wiring documentation before ordering.
• Correct transmission main-power and wake-up sequencing is required for proper TCU initialization.
• MaxxECU currently identifies its Gen 1 8HP control as BETA functionality.
