Meet Luke Skyrevver: 625+ HP | 7,500+ RPM | Engine, ECU, Wiring & Final Tune Included
Available to order now. Starting at $18,499.
Some sports cars deserve an engine you can feel building toward redline. Luke Skyrevver gives a lightweight, manual-transmission build the sound and immediate response of a naturally aspirated V8, followed by a strong, linear pull that keeps going past 7,500 RPM.
This is a 6.2L with real midrange, a noticeable idle, and the manners to drive every day. The camshaft, cylinder heads, intake, and tune work together to make the top of the tach exciting without making ordinary driving a chore. In a light car with a T56 and appropriately short gearing, each shift drops you back into the heart of the powerband. It’s the kind of combination that makes you find one more reason to take the long way home.
Luke Skyrevver arrives as a matched engine and controls package. Its fueling, ECU, wiring, sensors, and completed RAD tune are specified together, so you can focus on building the car around it.
- 625+ advertised engine horsepower
- 545+ rear-wheel horsepower measured in a street-equipped development car
- 7,500+ RPM operating range
- Naturally aspirated 6.2L V8
- Flex-fuel ready
- Standalone ECU, engine harness, sensors, and completed RAD tune included
- Oiling improvements designed for sustained high-RPM use
- Broken in and dyno tested before delivery
A V8 That Wants to Rev
Luke Skyrevver has the low-speed response you expect from a 6.2L LS, then adds an increasingly urgent pull through the midrange and all the way to the top of the tach. The throttle responds immediately. The power builds predictably. The engine feels eager every time you let it run through a gear.
That character makes it a natural fit for a lightweight sports car or an aggressively geared street build. Picture the experience in an RX-7, Miata, S30, Fox-body, or compact BMW: unmistakable V8 sound, instant response, and a redline you’ll actually want to use.
It has presence at idle and real performance at full throttle, with a tune developed for the starts, traffic, and part-throttle driving that happen between those moments.

Built to Keep Pulling
High-RPM performance depends on oil control as much as the parts above the crankshaft. Luke Skyrevver includes:
- High-pressure oil pump
- Custom windage tray
- Crank scraper
- RAD proprietary oiling-system and clearance modifications
- Oil-pressure monitoring
- Oil-temperature monitoring
- Synthetic startup oil and filter
An oil pan is a required, application-specific option and is selected separately from the $18,999 starting package. The pan and matching installation provisions can be chosen for the chassis, with baffled configurations available as appropriate.
Engine Management, Wiring & RAD Tune
The engine and its controls arrive as one developed combination:
- Standalone engine-management system
- Complete engine wiring harness and sensors
- Drive-by-wire throttle control
- Wideband oxygen sensing with closed-loop air/fuel correction
- Flex-fuel control
- Fuel-pressure monitoring
- Oil-pressure and oil-temperature monitoring
- Configured rev limits and engine-protection strategies
- Data logging
- Completed startup, idle, part-throttle, flex-fuel, and wide-open-throttle tune
This is a finished RAD tune matched to the included engine hardware, developed for the way the car drives as well as the number it makes on the dyno.
Proven in Street Trim
Development and dyno testing were completed at normal operating temperature with the finished street tune and ordinary pump E85, approximately E70. The development car retained its air filter and full street exhaust, including catalytic converters, mufflers, and resonators.
The published output was not produced with an open exhaust, special dyno fuel, lightweight test fluids, or a one-pull timing map. RAD’s 625+ HP advertised rating is deliberately conservative and reflects the performance we are prepared to put our name behind.
The Long Way Home Starts at Redline
Luke Skyrevver starts cleanly, holds a controlled idle, and responds crisply at low speed. Cold start, warm-up, idle control, part-throttle behavior, and transient response receive the same attention as peak power.
Drive it across town and it feels like a finished street car. Give it a clear stretch of road and let it sing past 7,500 RPM. That’s the experience this engine was built to deliver.
RAD — Engineered Powertrain Solutions. Ready to Drive.
For the best experience, we recommend Luke Skyrevver in vehicles weighing up to 3,300 pounds, a final drive around 4.11:1, and a manual transmission.
The Parts Behind the RAD Badge
Typical component brands across RAD packages include BTR, Texas Speed, Cam Motion, AFR, PRC, Mahle, ARP, GM Performance, Engine Pro, Fuel Injector Clinic, Bosch, Haltech, and MaxxECU. For turbo systems, that roster also includes Garrett, BorgWarner, and Turbosmart. RAD favors American-made performance hardware and proven specialists throughout each combination. Every part is selected for quality, durability, and fit, so you can have confidence in both the components and the RAD engineering behind them.
Photos are representative. Some standard included items—including the ECU, harness, sensors, and startup oil and filter—are not shown. The required application-specific oil pan is selected separately. Some pictured accessories, including exhaust manifolds, are optional or not included.
