Haltech NEXUS Ti4L Transmission Interface Kit
Haltech NEXUS Ti4L Transmission Interface Kit
Haltech NEXUS Ti4L Transmission Interface Kit for GM 4L-Series Automatics
Part Number: HT-196001
The Haltech NEXUS Ti4L adds integrated control of supported GM 4L-series automatic transmissions to a Haltech NEXUS ECU or VCU.
For NEXUS Rebel LS installations, the supplied terminated transmission harness connects directly to the transmission breakout connector on the Rebel LS engine harness. Transmission selection and initial configuration are handled through the Rebel LS Setup Wizard, avoiding the separate standalone transmission controller, duplicated sensors, and disconnected engine-and-transmission strategies common in conventional LS swap installations.
The Ti4L also uses an included 500 psi line-pressure sensor for closed-loop pressure control and long-term learning. This allows the NEXUS system to compare commanded pressure with actual transmission pressure and adapt the control strategy as the vehicle is driven.

Application Notes
- Supported transmissions include:
- 4L60E and 4L65E, non-4WD, 1995 and later
- 4L70E, non-4WD, 2006–2008
- 4L80E and 4L85E, non-4WD, 1994 and later
- The 2009-and-later 4L70E uses a different main transmission-connector pinout and is not supported by the supplied harness.
- The 1991–1993 4L80E uses a different main transmission connector and is not supported by the supplied harness.
- Haltech specifies this kit for non-4WD transmissions. Compatibility should not be assumed for 4WD versions or transmissions converted between 2WD and 4WD configurations.
- The Ti4L is an expansion interface for a compatible NEXUS ECU or VCU. It is not a standalone transmission controller.
- Elite, Platinum, and earlier Haltech ECU families are not supported.
- Installation with a NEXUS Rebel LS terminated harness is plug-and-play at the transmission-breakout connection.
- Universal NEXUS ECU and VCU installations require the transmission-breakout connector to be wired to ECU power, ground, Haltech CAN, vehicle-speed input, and signal ground.
- The supplied harness connects to the transmission’s main connector, vehicle-speed sensor, line-pressure sensor, and turbine-speed sensor where fitted.
- The 4L60E does not use a turbine/input-shaft-speed sensor. The unused turbine-speed connector is left disconnected in that application.
- The included pressure sensor installs at the transmission’s 1/8 NPT line-pressure test port.
- The supplied hose, fittings, clamp, bolt, and spacer allow the line-pressure sensor to be mounted remotely when clearance around the transmission case is limited.
- Installing and correctly calibrating the supplied pressure sensor is required for closed-loop line-pressure control and the associated learning strategy.
- The Ti4L’s transmission inputs and outputs are assigned specifically for the HT-187000 harness and cannot be reassigned to unrelated functions.
- Transmission type, line-pressure calibration, shift behavior, torque-converter-clutch operation, and related tables are configured through Haltech NSP.
- Completing the Rebel LS Setup Wizard creates the initial transmission configuration and input/output assignments. Final shift scheduling, pressure control, converter behavior, and torque-management calibration must still be matched to the transmission, converter, vehicle weight, gearing, tire size, engine output, and intended use.
- The transmission must use the supported factory-style solenoid, range-switch, temperature-sensor, and connector arrangement. Internally modified or aftermarket-controlled transmissions may require compatibility confirmation.
Haltech Usage Notice
