Haltech NEXUS Rebel LS Gen III ECU and Terminated Harness Kit

Part Number: HT-220201

The Haltech NEXUS Rebel LS is a complete engine-management and terminated-harness package developed specifically for Gen III GM LS swaps.

The Rebel LS combines the ECU, power management, wideband controller, onboard data logging, Wi-Fi connectivity, and an easy-to-install LS engine harness in one integrated system. Dedicated, preconfigured inputs and outputs eliminate much of the wiring and software setup normally required with a universal standalone ECU, while Haltech’s LS Setup Wizard makes initial configuration straightforward.

This kit supports Gen III LS engines equipped with a cable-operated throttle body, EV1 high-impedance injectors, and a manual transmission.

Application Notes

  • Intended for Gen III GM LS engines using a cable-operated throttle body.
  • The included throttle sub-harness connects to a GM LS cable-operated throttle body with a throttle-position sensor and 4-wire idle-air-control valve.
  • The supplied injector sub-harness uses EV1 injector connectors.
  • The ECU supports high-impedance fuel injectors only.
  • The Gen III knock-sensor adapter converts the two Gen IV-style knock-sensor connectors on the main harness to the single connector used by Gen III valley-mounted knock sensors.
  • The main harness connects directly to a Gen III-style MAP sensor and early-style GM oil-pressure sensor.
  • Later Gen IV MAP and oil-pressure sensors require the appropriate adapter harnesses, sold separately.
  • The camshaft-sensor connector’s signal and sensor-power wires must be pinned into the appropriate connector positions for the specific camshaft sensor being used.
  • The ECU automatically identifies supported 24x or 58x crankshaft patterns and 1x or 4x camshaft patterns when the engine is cranked.
  • The included transmission harness connects the Rebel LS main harness to the vehicle-speed sensor on a T56 manual transmission.
  • Other manual-transmission applications may require application-specific vehicle-speed and related transmission wiring.
  • Drive-by-wire throttle control is supported by the ECU, but the required throttle and accelerator-pedal adapter harnesses are not included in this Gen III cable-throttle kit.
  • Compatible electronically controlled GM automatic transmissions require a separate Haltech Ti-series transmission interface, transmission harness, and supporting configuration.
  • Engines combining Gen III and Gen IV sensors, throttles, injectors, or pedals may require additional adapter harnesses.
  • A flex-fuel composition sensor is supported but is not included.
  • A fuel-pressure sensor is supported but is not included. Adding one allows fuel-pressure compensation and fuel-pressure-based engine-protection strategies.
  • The onboard wideband controller supports one Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor. Dual-bank wideband monitoring requires an additional Haltech CAN wideband controller and sensor.
  • The ECU provides one user-configurable 25 A auxiliary output that can operate a secondary fuel pump, additional cooling fan, starter solenoid, high-current solenoid, or another suitable switched 12 V load.
  • The ECU requires direct battery-positive and battery-negative connections. The required 4 AWG battery cables are sold separately.
  • The Rebel LS Setup Wizard generates an initial configuration based on the selected engine, camshaft, throttle, MAP sensor, fuel system, injectors, and ignition coils.
  • The supplied base configuration is intended to start and operate the engine. Final calibration is still required for the actual engine, fuel system, induction system, exhaust, and vehicle combination.
  • The ECU’s CAN network is intended for compatible Haltech CAN devices. Retention of factory instrument-cluster, ABS, body-control, or other OEM CAN functions requires separate application-specific integration.
